I bought my daughter a FL400 3 years ago. She is now 14 and flipped it for the first time this weekend. (It rolled 3 times and she was laughing the entire time) She is getting older and going for more air/speed. Just starting to plan what I am going to upgrade for her and would really appreciate any suggestion/experiences. We only ride in the dunes (no desert or woods). Looking for few suggestions on brands or kits:
    Long travel?
    Shocks?
    Clutch work?
    Carb upgrade?
Motor upgrade? (Probably going to wait until she is 18)
Wheels and tires I am good...
Any companies that really work with these?

    Thank you for any help.

Check whatever the roll cage is for integrity? Arm restraints for the next time? Don't know what retention belts you have in there but maybe make sure this first time event wasn't just a matter of luck she made it through? Safety first, then go faster.

Get in touch with Neil at ATV Racing. 623-516-8640. He's off of Deer Valley and 24th ave.
They've been doing stuff for the Pilot for years. Everything you've mentioned.

If not there, try Desert Dog Off-road out in Fountain Hills. Jay used to be Neil's right hand man and developed a lot of the ATV Pilot stuff.

You'll not find anyone with more experience.

    Ah, didn't realize that.

I've not seen Livewire on any forum or heard anything from him in a long time. It's good to see that he's still up and running.

I'd still be headed to ATV Racing. It's local to the OP and they have far more experience with the Pilot than just about anyone in the states.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will start digging and saving. The long travel kits with shock will cost more than what I bought her buggy for...

Aftermarket clutch from ATV racing works well.
I have heard changing out the shocks, will be a big improvement.
make sure she keeps using the hand restraints and get her a neck brace or just a collar will be better than nothing.
I've tumbled mine end over end several times, I would blame the suspension, hitting a little dune that kicks the front end up, then when the rear hits it sends it flying, I've flipped end over end without even hitting any plastic or breaking the whip landed on all 3 wheels, oh ya, that was when my front wheel broke the center out and was rolling up the dune.

Start with Work's shocks. They make a world of difference over the stock units. You may find that's all it needs for what your doing with it.
