The front beam/axle is bent on the 1980 odyssey I purchased. Anyone straightened one before and what did you do to get it straight?

I've straightened the jackshaft on my little buggy before with just a press and an indicator

I've never done it to a 250, but on my 350, we put a long large pipe over the stub axle while applying heat, then used the pipe to bend it back. It took a lot of force to get it back in line.

    Which side?

I have a frame and the one looks bent but the other (left while sitting in it) looks ok.

Not going to be using them.

I was thinking on finding a pipe that would fit inside the tube. Insert the pipe and heat the beam with a torch. As the beam straightened, I would slide the pipe up inside of the beam until it went in about half way. It should be straight then.

MASCMAN, are you saying you have an FL250 frame to sale or give away?

If you are talking about the j-arm, I can help you...I have a project that I bought but won't be using the Odyssey frame. It has been grafted onto behind the seat area.

Looks like it has different front hubs...maybe from something with front drums?

I thought about using the frame but not sure yet, but I am doing my own suspension.

That's what I am trying to do. Convert the three bolt hubs to something else with four bolt hubs . I can't figure out what will fit. Any idea of what the hubs came off of?

I am also thinking of some type of rear suspension, probably a trailing arm type.

Do you have a list of parts from other ATV's that fit the FL250?

That is what I was going to do to my frame but have decided to just build one!

Here are some pics...I may be able to get some of the hubs later. If you are interested I am not going to use them.

What type of engine is that? That is cool, wish I could find one out this way.

I was considering getting a second frame to cut and use as the rear swing arm.

It would extend the frame about 4-6 inches. Ody parts are hard to find in my area.

I found a wiring harness on Craigslist to convent to Ody from points to CDI for $20 including shipping.
