Have a few questions on points set-up on 1977 fl250. Just got this odyssey. ran for a couple days, then no spark. decided to change the points.

1.) what opens and closes the points? what interacts with the points cam button?

2.) my points stay closed - just put a new set in. Any thoughts about that?

3.) it seems like the weights / springs on the flywheel (the advance) opens if rotated in the opposite direction of the crank, why would that be?
