Bought a buggy. Rear u joints all busted up. Rebuilding it. Do the center cross of the u joints need to line up with the pivots of the suspension? Axles will have plunge in the center with splines.

The joints don't need to be on center but it does help.
As long as the offsets are equal on each end it won't need to plunge. But the offsets need tobe really really close. Also make sure there in correct phase, this one kicked my ass.

That said, I personally would not waste money on axles that don't have a slip yoke.. things flex and ujoints die.

This is the direction I’m currently looking at.

Can get 1310 series yokes with the right bore and keyway to fit my current stub shafts.

Shouldn't be an issue - you're stuck thinking in perpendicular planes - XZ in this example. It just leans off that plane a bit and doesn't care one bit. It's angle, not direction of angle. Does that make sense?

I was just thinking the max travel limit of the u joints is when the yokes crash into each other and adding that second angle may affect that.
Measuring from the rear there is about 24 degrees downward slope from the spool shaft to the wheel shaft at ride height (rear seems real stiff so I might lower shock pressure over time) Looks like 1310 series are rated for 30 degreesEdge Piranha with Sled Engine, 2 Margay sprint race karts, and a couple of fun Karts
