Should I just stick with the Type 1 CV axles I have now and just buy the rest of the parts, or should I get rid of them and get different ones? I'm open to suggestions, at this point. I have the go ahead from my wife to buy more parts, but I don't want to until I know if I should go a different axle route. I'm using that Chenowth as kind of a template, but there's not much information on what CV axles they used on them for the military, if its type 1, Bus, Porsche 930. All I know is, that the wheels a 15x6 or 15x5 front and 15x10 rear. E78x15 Mickey Thompson tires in the front and 31x10.5x15 Mickey Thompsons in back.

So looking at Porsche 924 (Type 4) CV axles, they are roughly the same length end to end vs the Type 1 CV axles, is this correct? Looking at Rockauto 1979 924 if anyone is curious. If the length is correct and they do allow for 22 degree angle, I'll go that route.Though, trying to find stub axles for the type 4 is a huge pain. Or is type 2 and type 4 comparable at that point?

I actually have that bookmarked and was referring to it several times to make sure. If the pattern is 100mm and 6 bolt pattern is the exact same as the type 2, then it looks like stub axles from the type 2 and transmission flanges are the same as well. Which saves me a headache from tracking down parts.

Since it looks like I'm going the route of the Type 4 using type 2 to type 1 conversion stubs and flanges, at that point would a 3x3 trailing arm setup be out of the question?

Sounds like a question for the Wizard or "Bob Ross".
