Been checking the Rekluse website for a few months now and they finally came out with a clutch for the 2nd Gen Busa.....anyone running a busa considering going this route??? Kinda pricey...here's a link

    https://rekluse.com/product/radiusx-clutch-street/

Really thinking of getting one for mine before our annual Oregon dunes trip.....would like to be able to get out of first without stalling in the sand....lol

That seems like a lot of money for a complicated part without a proven use life just to let you come to a stop while in gear.

Very much agreed .....altho I prolly got more money sunk into my buggy than my wife's can am X3.....its not about the money so much for me (altho there are limits) as the hobby and satisfaction it gives me. I did also spend 3 times as much for the RPM just to be able to back it off the trailer too.....lol

This is all perspective, really...the RPM box, I think, is completely different. I can't think of a single outing where going backward wasn't critical. I'd spend a lot of money to go backward.

From a practical perspective, though, I'd just be concerned about the Rekluse's longevity in a buggy. I'm not a fan of them in bikes but they do okay...You throw on 4+ times the weight at it, though, and who knows how well it'll hold up. If you got the grand to try it out then I think it'd be a neat experiment, but I'd personally be mounting up an automatic FWD transaxle before experimenting with the unknown.

I hear ya ....spending that kind of money on an experiment might not be wise. Altho on Rekluse's website they mention that they use their applications on the YXZ 1k motor.

The YXZ1000 is only kicking about 100hp at the crank, though. Your hayabusa is pushing nearly twice the power through the clutch. It might work just fine...i think if you’re really interested in trying it out it might be worth the time and effort in reaching out to rekluse and seeing if they’ll cut you a deal on a clutch comsidering your somewhat unique application. Being a testbed might open up a new market for them.

    i’m really, really cheap though

Update for informational purposes ......bought the Rekluse clutch for my Hayabusa powered buggy. I've had the buggy out for two weeks in Oregon in July and another weekend trip to Sand Mountain Nv. in October. Buggy ran flawlessly and I loved not having to push in the clutch in the sand when i had to stop. makes stopping and starting a breeze.

I run the efm auto clutch in my hayabusa buggy for the past 3 years. (I love it).. I just had to replace the clutch (frictions and steels) after this last trip. With the torque these motors make it is easy to be lazy and limp around and if you let the rpms hover around 1500 to 1700 it is the same as slipping the clutch and will wear out fast.....Solution is don't be lazy with it.
