    I think the problem he was having with that is a CVT clutch can't handle the RPMs a street bike engine will turn so it needs to be geared down first

    You can use a street bike motor and a cvt, but you can't use the street bike transmission and the cvt. You'll have to play with which gear works best with the CVT, but you're probably going to stick it in the 1:1 gear and leave it there. When you have a CVT that's all the transmission you can use while driving.

    Now, the smarter thing to do would be to remove the secondary clutch from your SXS gearbox and run a sprocket and use the bike's transmission to its full potential.
