Anyone ever made a center carrier out of an odyssey lower gear shaft?

I'm thinking the stock disc in the stock location[Larger splines on the right]and a sprocket mounted to the gear? Any thoughts?

    Got this pic from google.

Well I just figured out something good. The rear disc mount from a raptor 660, will slide right onto the splines where the gear is in the photo. That should make it easier to mount a sprocket

I also realized the hubs from the raptor 660 fit the fl350 axles with a spacer. This means I can use the raptor wheels and tires I have.

If your going to do that why not use the whole odyssey transmission? Seems the prices aren't too bad on ebay these days for a complete one.

You plan to use the odyssey axles? What is the powerplant and suspension for this buggy?

I got a Raptor 660 with reverse I was thinking about using. The suspension is stock FL350 at the moment. The FL350 itself has been raped for parts since the original owner blew the motor.

The reason I was considering using this shaft is because it has the correct spline for the ody axles and it's the correct length.

I was thinking pillow blocks for mounting but the metric size of the shaft seems to have squashed that idea. I found sealed bearings to fit but might have to custom make some 4 hole bearing mounts.

Bearing part numbers are 6206 2RSJEM and 6207 2ZJEM. They're made in the USA by SKF. About 75 bucks

My buggy runs an odyssey reduction box, with the output shaft set up to take VW CV flanges...not much luck uploading pics here but I can PM.

Why not take the shaft down to a local machine shop, have the turn the shaft down to the correct size for a given pillow block?

I have a lathe but I wanted to keep the size stock. It all worked out, but I sold the buggy after a chain saw accident. It's been about a year and my hand is just now about 70%
