This is something I saw in a magazine that holds grease inside a CV joint, see the link to the post below

For the CV joint boot for the Gear One hub, I am using a RCV performance "Heavy Duty Neoprene CV Boot for use on Pro-4 and 930 joints" , part number BAT-100. The boot is to tall , so I cut it down about 1.0 inch. One picture shows a cut down boot against a uncut boot.
I am not going to use these boots now, I got a pair of the new style Bates boots and I think they are better. see the following post.

I saw these boots on the Race Ready Products web site. I am going to use these at the CV joints up at the transmission.
The boot: BTS BootNS 930 Bates Boot (new style)
The mounting flange: BTS BH930 930 Boot Holder (new style)
Race Ready > Bates Boots
The boot is 4.25 inch tall and the 4.25 inch dia at the mounting flange. It has the lip molded into the boot at the mounting flange area, because of this holds on to the mounting flange better that the old style Bates boots I got from RCV Performance. The new style boots are smaller and more flexible.

These are pictures of the mounting flange BTS BH930 930 Boot Holder (new style). The mounting flange has the radius lip where the axle goes through the flange so the CV joint angle will not be limited by the mounting flange

The boot on the left side is the Bates new style boot BTS BootNS I got from Race Ready Products, its 4.25 inch tall. The boot on the right side is the Bates old style boot I got from RCV Performance BAT-100, its 6 inch tall. The boot in the middle is the Bates old style boot I got from RCV Performance BAT-100 that I cut about 1 inch off the mounting flange area, its 5 inch tall. All 3 of the boots are 4.25 inch dia at the mounting flange area.

AGM’s CV Saver prevent grease from migrating out into your CV boot away from the CV.

I had to put a small CV boot on one of my CV's because of a clearance problem. The first small CV boot I tried was made by RCV Performance Products part number 336-4A . I put the boot flange on the CV to check clearance at full suspension drop. Starting from the axle coming straight out of the CV. I could only get 11 degrees of axle angle downward and the axle hit the flange and 11 degrees of upward axle angle and the axle hit the flange. The flange has a 1 inch tall flange which is the problem. This boot will not work on long travel suspension
930 CV Boot For Use up to 22 Degrees
There's a picture showing the RCV boot flange on my buggy at 10 degrees of downward angle (silver color flange)
The last picture shows a small boot flange I got from Pacific Customs that has a flange height of 0.375 inch , the axle in the picture at a 22 degrees downward angle. ( black color flange)
