Im Sure Im Not The Only One To Ever Ask This Question, In Fact Im Sure I Saw It In Here Some Where I Jsut Cant Fins It.
On My Buugy I Have Standard Vw Axles I Would Like To Get Some That Have More Plunge So They Dont Rip Apart. Either Some One Who Can Make The Telascoping Ones With Out Spending Boo Koo Bucks, Or Maybe The Porche Axles That Plunge More. My Question Is Wich Ones Are They And Do They Have The Same Hubs.
DOES THIS LOOK STRAIGHT OR ARE THE FUMES JUST GETTING TO ME?

you shouldnt have that much plunge with that setup, Could it be the axle is to short to start with?

I need plunge so the axles sit further in when the suspension is compressed. youre right with this setup i shouldnt need more but I made a mistake when I made the hub carriers. I made them smaller than where they attach to the buggy so as they go up or down it pushes the hub away from the rail. ( i guess it would be best if I just remade them ) its just a lot of work. just for the general knowledge what are the axles and do they have the same hub.

What i am saying is there should be enough plunge in the cvs, If you built the suspension with the axles to far out in the plunge zone this may be your problem, the cvs and stubs are not the same no...

I think we are touching on the same problem, I dont think I made it as clear as I should have. I know when I made the hub carriers I made them too far out and this is made worse by them not keeping the a arms at the same angle it pushes itself away. now origanally I did this because when I first mocked it up the axle would hit in the middle of the stroke for lack of plunge thats why I moved them out more and thats what brings me to my currant problem.
I hate to say it but I think I just need to redo the hub carriers and be done with it.

sorry got a little off subject again. to answer your question the way I have it set up now yes they are too short that why I was thinking about going with the telescoping cv joints or something like that. the other porshe axles was an after thought. the telescoping ones would solve both my problems with out having to redo everything.

Telescoping axles are $$ usually. Looking at your setup I would guess it would be cheaper, eaiser, and faster to simply cut the outer ends of the arms off. Shorten the required amount and reweld.
Now that NOBAMA has PROVEN he is the absolute WORST president in the history of history Jimmy Carter can thank him for stealing the dunce crown.
