I'm not at all an expert, but I am enjoying this little free tool.

How about a collection of video how tos?

After these fully upload you should be able to watch them in 1080p HD if you click on to YT's website.

Click on the video once to start and click again to jump to Youtube's site. Then select HD1080 mode and full screen mode for the best quality.

I chose to make them without audio, but you should get the idea.

    Tubing Part 1
A quick demo on how to turn a line path into a tubing run. This uses the follow me tool and components, layers, etc.

    Creating a custom Wheel/Tire
A slick way to create very complex shapes of rims/tires. Uses the follow me tool.

    Series - Buggy 2 D layout, Part 1
This is just me working on a buggy idea. Nothing really planned here, just trying to show some basic tools and methods used to develop a 2D layout. Part 1 of 4.

Wow, I wasn't aware of the things you could do in sketchup, it kept telling me there was a newer version than the one I was using, and I see that they've added a lot of functionality. These videos will be extremely helpful to many builders! Great job!

Will do, but I'm looking for ideas so I'm taking requests..

I was kind of thinking about doing some really basic type stuff, but I also want to keep it buggy related.

Are you guys mostly thinking of using it to layout framing, or do you want to get into some other details as well.

These are pretty easy for me to make, it takes more time to upload than anything.

I vote on frame designing, suspension front and rear, you know trying to get all the ideas in the head out to see some visable results. I dont know about you guys but I cant tell you how many times things look perfect in my head only to find out that the way I was thinking wasnt even close to practical or even working. Its Ok though, the voices in my head tell me to keep trying.

Framing and suspension for sure. also I have tried downloading components and working with them but I just don't know how. Just because I need to learn how I started making a wheel/tire following your vid and it helps alot. In your vids it looks like there is a little window with the dimension in it rite at the curser or tool your using, Is that rite? if so how do you do that? Also what templete do you use? I'm going to watch some of the training vids and play with it a bunch in hopes of not driving you crazy with questions

    Sounds good.
I worked on a couple of basic buggy 2D layout series videos. I'm uploading slowly, but it'll probably take until tomorrow before the HD versions are operational. I figured it may be worthwhile just to record building a buggy from scratch might be good. The first step I like to do, is just sketch it out in 2D using a driver/seat model and engine to pencil things out. Then I move on into 3D single line, and finally extrude the tubing.

After I get that done, I'll go back to some of the specific ones like components, and maybe do one on axis, measuring, layers and some of those sorts of things. Maybe later get into modeling some detailed items.

Glad it's helpful, these are pretty easy to do.
