Hi everybody! First things first, total newbie here. I have started an ambitious project here, and am in need of some guidance from the buggy jedi that seem to float around this forum. A little background info...Over the last two years, I have seen this kart frame in my neighbors back yard, grass beginning to grow over the tires etc...I proposed purchasing it, they accepted. A great deal @ $50 if you ask me. What I'm working with: Motor is from a 1979 Honda ATC110, rear end looks like it came from a Yamaha quad(banshee?). And the rest is a frankenstein mash-up of aluminum i-beam, and steel tube frame. The front end looks to have come off a riding mower, or possibly older golf-kart(just guesses really). I know this needs a lot of work all over, but I am starting slow and just want to get the steering figured out for now. I have posted some pictures of the steering setup it has now. My biggest question is where do i start? Is this setup usable at all? Would a rack/pinion be a better setup? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated(other than take it to the scrap heap )

    Thank you so much!

That front end is off of a golf cart, Yamaha I believe. It will work fine but you will need a rack and pinion. I would look at the 8" Latest Rage rack.

I had a gokart that some friends and I built using that same front end and an old tractor. We used the rack from the golf cart but the ratio was way too slow, hence the spinner.
