With suspension travel, and big motor compartments, a home built is not likely to fall in the dimensions of a pilot, I nominate overall max width at ride height 70", i think there was some rules before for running the rca dome and such with that spec, and protodie based his car around them rules....As for length I think the same set of rules stated 120" overall length, bumpers and all....

So your car at ride height would have to fit in a 70x120 square.....

Anyone else have some guidelines they think are more adequate?

Basically 6' x 10' - sounds pretty reasonable. *The 120" length is overall - includes bumpers, right? *As if the car were sitting on the starting line...

Proto - what did you base your cars on?

I want to say the old stadium lite rules were a max of 65" wide - but it seems my new cars are wider than than - I'll measure tomorrow. *65" is on the narrow side for what we're wanting to do. *70" sounds pretty darn good. *

we based ours on off road Lite rules development, we worked out for the RCA dome and other races a few years back. It was on the pilot board, and alot of people were involved.
Kinda like now, only more are involved here right now *

    Here are the rules,,,,,,attached

Ok I just skimmed over it, and there are some things that *would need to be changed in these old rules,,,,, but that is what we are doing

I think we could work off those rules and make some minor changes, Like wrist restraints to be acceptable, and increase the oal to 120"
