    Hey guys

looking at the buggy plans for the st4 and it says that i need an overall angle of 88 but when we do 44 and 44 it is not correct. also when we only have a 45 degrees chop saw.
what is the formula or calculation that we are doing wrong

    thanks

with a 45 degree saw you cant get 44 degrees unless it goes past some, might need to break the grinder out and do it the old fashioned way

When angles are near 45 degrees it's easy to ef up. This is because you can accidently use the wrong side of the cut.
The 2 mitered pieces to make 88 are actually 46 and 46
44 and 44 are what is removed.
    Does this make sense?

Ground hog Day, love that movie!

Hope you haven't already started cutting material.
I don't mean to be rude but If your already having a hard time with angles then the rest of the project is gonna be a major headache!

First off you need to but or make an Angle finder/Protractor.
Either store bought or 2 pieces of flat bar screwed together on one end.
Finding your miter cuts with square is a lot easier to start off with before cutting round.
You can draw your desired angle on the floor with 2 intersecting lines. Lay 1 piece of tubing on 1 line and the other tube along the opposite line so that one tube lays over the other at the angle point.
Now use a marker and mark both tubes where they intersect on the outside of the bend and the inside of the bend.
Lift up the tubes and draw a line between both points that you marked on each tube.
That's your degree line to cut on which will give you 2 perfect miter cuts on each tube.

I hope this makes sense, but I have a feeling I may have just made things more complicated for you.
Sorry about that. In my head it looks easy but describing the method isn't.
