I built a mean gx200 clone that should be around 16 hp. Last year I ran it with a clutch @8hp and hit 44mph. This year I doubled the power and ran a tav. The problem I have is the over drive isn't allowing the engine to peak. How can I get the cvt to stay out of overdrive till I hit a higher rpm? Also a bigger sprocket isn't an option due to tiny tires.

had the same thing with similar engine and clutch set up.
did a lot of clutch expirementing and tuning on that one
in the end needed more gear reduction / bigger sprocket but that means bigger tires

with Cv tech clutches we are using 7:1 gear reduction is needed for full travel on the clutch

They sell different springs for those clutches, what color are you using now?
