Well I Guess We Need a Post in Here! Asphalt 1000cc's!

I thought I'd be the first. I build R1 powered and CBR1000rr powered Mini Formula Indy cars. Not to sell, because I'm still learning and I lose money on every one that I've done so far.

They run about 150mph and I'm too scared to go any faster, they seem to get real "light" over 140. I'm working on the aero package and studying F-1 cars in the wind tunnel on the internet and on TV, I've got some ideas about how to get the cars to pull themselves back on the ground and also take full advantage of the downforce created by the wings. The 2010 car will be done in the spring and I'm working out some driveline theory with the specailists from this site.

I need to get one of these things out on a road course to really "stretch it's legs" and see what it'll really do. I'm here in Ohio and run on drag strips and oval tracks, usually 1/2 miles. My cars throw up times faster than NASCAR cars and keep pace with Super Modifieds and winged 410 Sprint cars. At less than 10K to build, it's not bad. That's fast fast for cheap money.

    Anyone else run Asphalt??

    Post away!

All my pictures are huge. I'm not sure how to get them small like you guys do- They look like they're attchments? I host each image then insert 'em. (this makes for a huge picture.) I posted in the driveline section and they are BIG. I'll put up a ton of pics in here if you can explain to me how to get them small, without resizing each image. I've got a bunch and would love to share.

On second thought, since I'm the first post in this section, I will re-size and host a bunch of pictures and get them up throughout the day. It's the least I could do. This site is so cool and I've learned alot from reading archived & old posts. Some of these cars are truly inspirational.

I like the video on the asphalt, but can see that the buggies that aren't set up for dirt ovals don't run very fast times. It's all about stagger, wedge and bias on the ovals. I'm going to do pics today, I just got home from work. I also have video of the last unsuspensded car running on asphalt. I'll get some stuff up.

Here's last year's oval track car, from the rear, with the rear axle "zeroed" out, for the drag strip. I'll get more up soon.
