the suzuki atv ltf has only one rear brake that stops 1 wheel only and then the other wheel by locking the rear axils threw to the other side .that kills my universals.especally with bear claw tyers. The front ATV *brakes are useless.

Braking one wheel isn't too far removed from a centrally mounted brake. Maybe you need to explore bigger/better UJs.

Front brakes would be an obvious benefit, but if I understand you correctly, your base vehicle is an Odyssey and I'm not aware of any front brake kits for Odysseys.

You will probably need to hunt through an ATV wrecker's and adapt some quad front brakes to suit.

I think he has an old lt 250 front end on the Odyssey wich has drum brakes. *If you are trying to keep it cheap there's not much you can do but find a different atv front to put on there.

If you have drum brakes, your correct they are not very good, especially in the wet and mud. There is a few things you can do to improve drum brakes, like cutting grooves diagnally across the brake shoes to push the mud and water back out when the wheel turns but will never get drums to work as good as disk brakes, like the man says, find some disk brakes to swap over.

I got it.....replaced the back of the fl250 with the back of an ltf250, then put the front suspension off the old lft250 onto the front of the fl250.

FL250s have no front brakes so if the front of his machine is that, he has no front brakes. I think you can adapt old TRX200 front brakes to an FL250. They were single trailing arms like the FL250, but used the same brake shoes as the FL350 and FL400.

I don't get the U-joint part if it has a quad swing arm on it.
