The front beam/axle is bent on the 1980 odyssey I purchased. Anyone straightened one before and what did you do to get it straight?

I've straightened the jackshaft on my little buggy before with just a press and an indicator

I've never done it to a 250, but on my 350, we put a long large pipe over the stub axle while applying heat, then used the pipe to bend it back. It took a lot of force to get it back in line.

Which side?

I have a frame and the one looks bent but the other (left while sitting in it) looks ok.

Not going to be using them.

I was thinking on finding a pipe that would fit inside the tube. Insert the pipe and heat the beam with a torch. As the beam straightened, I would slide the pipe up inside of the beam until it went in about half way. It should be straight then.

MASCMAN, are you saying you have an FL250 frame to sale or give away?

If you are talking about the j-arm, I can help you...I have a project that I bought but won't be using the Odyssey frame. It has been grafted onto behind the seat area.

Looks like it has different front hubs...maybe from something with front drums?

I thought about using the frame but not sure yet, but I am doing my own suspension.

That's what I am trying to do. Convert the three bolt hubs to something else with four bolt hubs . I can't figure out what will fit. Any idea of what the hubs came off of?

I am also thinking of some type of rear suspension, probably a trailing arm type.

Do you have a list of parts from other ATV's that fit the FL250?

That is what I was going to do to my frame but have decided to just build one!

Here are some pics...I may be able to get some of the hubs later. If you are interested I am not going to use them.

What type of engine is that? That is cool, wish I could find one out this way.

I was considering getting a second frame to cut and use as the rear swing arm.

It would extend the frame about 4-6 inches. Ody parts are hard to find in my area.

I found a wiring harness on Craigslist to convent to Ody from points to CDI for $20 including shipping.

Basically I am stealing the cage, motor and probably the steering wheel...anything else us is up for grabs.

Did you figure what ATV hubs and rims are on the front. That is a great upgrade for the frontend. Yamaha Warrior 350 rear hubs and rims will fit the stock Ody rear axle, I already have them.

The bolt pattern is 4x110.

I am betting it is all Honda Fourtrax stuff...I believe that's what I read that some where using.

Couple pics I snapped this morning when I got home:

Let me know if this is something you're interested in and I can pull the hubs off for a better look.

We are supposed to get a storm here so I may need to hold off a couple days. It's in the garage right now but only because my wife is at work.

Looks like Honda to me.

I tried to upload a drawing of my rear suspension design. I have tried to upload photos before and they fail.

I hacked the front end off the frame so if you want to send me your info I can see how much it would cost to ship these.

Do you just want the hubs, spindles and j-arms?

I was originally building the entire frame, but instead of scrapping this one, I may as well just graft my front and rear ends that I will build to it...so i guess it will technically still be an Odyssey.[smilie=dunno.gif]

I will build a lower cage section from square sort of like the Piranha then use the the bent part of the cage to top it since I don't have a bender....may as well recycle!

That is a sharp frontend setup. Should give you lots of travel.

I found hubs and aluminum rims for the front locally for $60.

I have the rims aluminum rims cleaned for the rear and the new tires came in.

Now if I can get my rear suspension design off the drawing board.

I still can't get pictures to upload.

Sounds good.
I was just going to give you this stuff for cost of shipping so if you do want anything let me know...otherwise I will Ebay it.

Good deal. How about the J-Arms without the hubs to 39705. FedEx is usually the best.

Give me some to check it out.
