My dealer in Australia is building a big track and just sent me some video of some of his first jumps in his SXS (old style SXS built about 3 years ago).

He completely overshot the landing and bottomed out on the flat the first time he hit it, but the rest of the jumps were pretty smooth. It only has about 14" wheel travel and it was a big jump to land on hardpack so I wasn't surprised to see it bottom out like it did.

Man, he did hit the first one hard, the rest looked fine. I am sure he has a smile on his face hitting that jump. How business going these days Yoshi, seems like you were building a few V8 powered rails last I read.

No kidding. Knock you out on the thud then upside down under water, no thanks. Most likely thats why he over shot the first time.
Defiantly Nice work Yoshi. That thing is launching!

He's getting bigger. He said he stepped one off last week at 143 foot. He's working on some new video and pics, but gave me a few shots and video taken a month ago when the jumps were about 50 foot shorter than they are currently. The jumps are being hit pinned in 4th. gear..

When your going that big, a helmet won't do you much good unless you have a neck brace as well. A violent toss with the weight of a helmet could break your neck.

Everyone their own though, i'm sure he'll start wearing a helmet before too long as he said the jumps are starting to get a little scary. He actually races professional cross country and what he does in the SXS is just goofing off to him.....

Yoshi,

Do you know what his shock settings are?
