It's been a while since I posted here. It brought a smile to my face to see some of the old timers still lurking.

The Rorty name and Rorty Design business have been bought by an Australian company, Atkinson Race Technology Pty Ltd. The owner has great plans (pun intended) for the future.

I don't want to steal Atkinson Race Technology's thunder, but I can reveal it's their intention to produce the machined and laser-cut parts for the R11 Stiletto, R16 Shotgun and R21 Solo which Mini Buggy Supply (MBN member, Kludge) produced... until apparently vapourising. It's sad; I honestly don't know whether Frank is dead or alive.

Rorty Design's new owner intends to be active on this forum (though I don't know what his user name will be) and he is currently striving to launch the new Rorty web site ASAP.

It's only fair to the new owner that I no longer use 'Rorty' as my user name here, so this will be my last post as Rorty, though I will likely sign up under a new name.

Thanks to one and all, and I wish Atkinson Race Technology success in their new venture.

Cheers, Bob.

Good to hear things are going well! I am excited to see what comes next.

I've been frequenting the board since early in 06, and it is surprising to see the number of members that have been active since the earlier days of MBN. We are still waiting for new back from Gene, I will have to send him an email. I hope all is well on his end as well.

Howdy Bob!!! Good to see you're still alive and kicking the world in the arse. (:

When you and Atkinson sign up on MBN, please send me a PM so I can get you verified and finish the registration, as Amergin's installed a filter that requires verification - and I don't seem to get the notices.

Congrats on the sale Bob.

Glad to hear the plans/parts will still be available.

So what is/will be taking up your time these days? Any motorsports stuff?

Thanks guys!

I haven't driven a car in anger for years now... unless you count that road rage incident when I T-boned... ah never mind.

I still do a bit of design work, but I spend most of my time in pursuit of other interests.

Cheers, Bob.

Yup, back to the bottom of the pile again. As Samuel Johnson famously said, "The world is like a grand staircase, some are going up and some are going down."

Hi all
Thanks to Bob for the introduction. I have some big shoes to fill, literally!
Plus I'm new to forums so it might take a while for me to find my feet.:)

As Bob said I have great plans. I'm working on getting the Rorty website up again, hopefully it won't be long - I'll keep you posted.

I'm also working on getting new suppliers for laser cut plate work and machined parts established for the range of Rorty buggies - details will be on the new site once its up. In the mean time if you have a part-built Rorty buggy and are looking for plate work get in touch.

I am also in need of photos of Rorty buggies - I'll continue searching. If you want to be a star on the new Rorty site email me some pics!

I'm in South East Queensland, Australia - if there are any active members out there in my area let me know. The local South East Queensland Minibuggy Club seems to be inactive or at least the website is.
In a month or two I'll need someone to race in the new R21. I have pulled the power plant out of another project in the shed - its a ZX12R with a couple of enhancements; dry sump, twin screw supercharger, charge cooler 300hp...

Cheers
Christian

Welcome to MBN Crisco.

Good to hear your continuing the Rorty designs.

Looking forward to seeing the new site.

Will you have a US supplier for the parts? Laser/machined,etc.

A trifle under powered, but I might be available to deal with it.........

Hello Christian

Welcome to the forum.

For photos of Rorty buggys you could try this for starters.

Go to google images and type "site:minibuggy.net Rorty" without the quotation marks.

Cheers
Robbo.

Good tips, thanks.

I'm still working out the parts supply. If we don't have a US based manufacturer there will be at least a distributor arrangement to get parts to the US guys as cheaply and quickly as possible.

Its early days and there are lots of different opinions on the supply of laser cut parts I've read on MBN. I'll keep working on it and see what fits with the plans for world domination :p

Hi all
Sorry for the no reply. I had a temporary case of CRAFT disease (cant remember a thing) and forgot my MBN password. Finally got it sorted with help from Bob and k-fab. Thanks

All going well - the website is taking a fair bit of time but its looking good to be up for Christmas. Not sure which year though!
I have a temporary site up at RORTY Mini Buggies | Dirt Buggies, Mini Buggies, Off-Road Buggies, Sand Rails, Off-Road Karts By Atkinson Race Technology Pty Ltd (http://www.atkinsonracetechnology.com)
We also have a supplier of laser cut parts lined up - I just need to sort out the final prices for those that need them now.

Thanks for the photos, a big help. I don't have any of the R11 Stiletto, if you know of any let me know.

Cheers

Good to hear about the U.S. Distribution I have been waiting for this. When do you expect the plate kits for the r16 to be available.

Crisco
10-24-2015, 08:29 PM
Shouldn't be long. Maybe a couple of weeks. The kits are all designed around US sizing so no changes needed. We are just getting quotes.
I have all the parts to test the machined parts kit package as well with new brake packages. Once done I will send a few to Joey to keep in stock there. Brake parts etc will drop ship from suppliers to you at ClubRorty prices (min 10% off RRP).
Cheers

Rorty Plans and R16 Laser Cut Kits (USA) are 20% off for Spring (or Fall if you're on the other side of the planet)!
http://rorty.net/

I have 2 R16 laser cut plate kits on the shelf and I'm clearing them out due to some reliability issues with the guy who was helping me out in California.

Drop me an email (christian@rorty.net) PM, post or whatever and I'll help you out.
