Good one!

This pic has been all over the internet and it has numerous photoshops in it, including the doors, "trailing arms" and some of the body panel work.

The info that has currently been accompanying it was copied and pasted form a hoax that someone posted back in 2011 talking about the release of it.

I was more than a little skeptical one first seeing it also. Motor transverse mounted and the simple box lower trailing arms. But I was assured by a pretty good source that it was legit. Seems like a lot to change without doing a complete new model.

As with all revamped vehicles, I would wait till next year to buy one..........

I think that is a good idea, waiting for a while before you buy one. I spoke with a few guys on the coast a couple weeks back and they are not happy with the newer models, something about engine mounting if I recall. At any rate, it involved breakage and money. I can't recall the details, but I will get back to the coast end of August and inquire more.....

The cages/frames on the Mavrics really did not impress Me. It looked like it was designed by a retarded 3rd grader. The pics of the new RZR chassis looks pretty nice. The nicest SXS stock I have seen. I also think it's the first one that I don't want to cut the cage off the first time I laid eyes on it.......

Apparently with the cage and trailing arm changes they are watching the aftermarket........

Bullnerd

"retarded 3rd grader"- Hey!, I resemble that remark!

I feel exactly the same. The cages are terrible and the bumper on the can am...WTF? Is that Brundlefly?

Dont these designers have access to the internet? One trip to RDC and you can see what looks good.

The 1000 doesnt look too bad.

Hmmm! I would rather have the Can Am roll cage out of all of them. I am not impressed with the new RZR frame at all. Very little triangulation and looks like it could fold in the middle fairly easyly. Now the Wildcat frame (minus the roll cage)on the other hand impress's me. It has plenty of triangulation.

I bet If the market for wheelie popping rzr's was bigger they would. Speaking from a recent 78 mph experience riding in the back of a rzr4 900 xp, it had adequate performance for most people's needs. It had a stage 2 engine upgrade which is equivalent to the jagged x package and I was white knuckled for a minute ripping across the dirt at 8300 rpms. This 1000xp sets the bar a little higher but for those wanting more there will always be the aftermarket.

The upper cage looks nice on the Maverick till you look underneath the plastics at what it's attached to. Some spindly little cheesey sheetmetal mounts. There are so many open tube on that chassis the thing will rust from the inside out. The countless tube junctions where they didn't cope the tube, just used a couple pieces of plate to join the two with a 1/2 gap between the tubes. It's like it was designed to fail. The new RZR chassis looks much better than the old ones. Plenty of triangulation for a light vehicle like that. Although that one with the 190HP turbo motor would need some more due to the velocity it will attain.........

dont like it why pay so much money for something built so cheep and then put alot more money into it to get it where it needs to be. and it looks like a box yuck. that is the driving force behind my build. build 2x's the buggy for less than what i would have in a stock POS

From flipping through web sites with spec numbers. I can officially say according to Polaris.
Torque is rated at ....HUGE. According to them. So what ever that means.
IMO that's because of the true number was out. It wouldn't be that great considering prior models. Just an opinion.

I spoke with a few guys at the oregon coast this past week and got more info on the Razor issue. Evidently, it is well known on the blogs, but it is only with the 900 models and is fixed in the 2013 versions. The engine mount and Clutch belt adjuster bolt actually give way to the point where you lose clutch performance. After some of the guys figured out what was going on once they replaced everything else, it finally dawned on them where the issue was. Polaris is not at this time issuing a recall. Most of the owners I spoke to traded them in for a new rig.

On another note, I did see the new Razor 1000 and Arctic 1000 this week. I rode in the Arctic cat, pretty good suspension. Apparently, the Razor has made suspension improvements as well, but it seems like the Arctic Cat handles things just a bit better from what I heard this week. Take it for what its worth....
