Thanks guys. Apparently they made a "Sand Viper" and a "Viper." This one is a "Viper." I found a link to the manuals. Such a score for $100. I ended up buying the ignition switch (3 wire), ignition coil and battery on eBay last night. This should get me going and to figure out where to go next on the Resto.

Who sells covers for these? Also, what's a good vendor source to get parts? Need to replace the rear inner CV boot and both steering arm boots.

Hey, chuckorlando, is BIGE still a good source of buggy parts?

I cant stand BigE myself. Others like him. I would call JD at 9412866703

or gotbuggy.com You can also buy them direct but JD tends to be cheaper then joyner. ahahahaha

Thanks Chuck for that!

While I was watching some Viper vids on youtube, it gave me some info on what I am missing. Do you know where I can obtain new/used electronics box cover (cdi, coil, etc)? I also need a battery cover of sorts, but I guess I could make something like that though.

Also, is the drivers seat the only one that is adjustable (forward and back)?

yea the pass seat is solid. It has rails but they are tack welded. The electrics should be easy to get. JD should be able to hook you up. Alot of guys use alot of us use these for electrical boxes Carlon 8 in. x 4 in. Nice mod. I take it there is no vendor that sells these type of parts individually? I am looking for a coolant overflow as well.

FYI, no reply to my email to JD

I'll talk to him in the morning and have him get with you. You can search joyner on ebay. but your biggest issue is the model you have.

Fixed my accelerator cable correctly as the previous owner had it all rigged. Installed the Ignition Switch and Battery I got from eBay today. I also fixed my blinker issue with this relay mod. Works great! Also replaced missing brake light bulbs, found out the brake switch at the master cylinder is bad.

Man I threw my 250 away long time ago. I still have the joyner but it has a much nicer plant in it. Go over to buggycountry.com and start a thread. Just about everyone there has a joyner. I'm sure one will have pics for you

I went and ordered a stage 1 kit which comes with a Uni Filter, Elbow and 2 Main Jets. The stock box looks like an air choker to me ;)

Ok, here we are. Installed the coil, routed the fuel line without the filter temporarily and turned the key. She started right up without issue. I took her around the block and could only get her into H and ran like a dog, I could put her into L, but with struggle and then it would just make a grinding sort of noise in the tranny. I would put it into reverse and it moved as normal but can't get it out unless I shut the motor off and switch gears, then start back up. Also, once I shut her down, some smoke started coming out of the left cover (belt inside) rear opening.

What do you all think? Shot Clutch? Something else?
