Hi all

Been in my mind for a long time to build a buggy living in rural Ireland I've plenty of space to run a buggy
I've been going it alone so far but
Came across a st2 project video on YouTube which has led me here
Alone no more I hope with my many build questions

Just started really have top section according to the plan in the pic but have decided to stray away from the plan and build the full frame in round tubing
Also have added a rear LSD which I have completed with inboard disc brakes

Base of frame made today in tubing as I had planned instead of box section also sat in the engine and seat to see how things line up
Gonna have to run with my engine off centre in the frame as my diff section is soo narrow 150mm 6" between the plates
Great for suspension travel bad for balance will use battery and accessories to counter the offset engine weight

Nivek,
A couple of suggestions for you before you get to far check the clearance for your head, the ST2 stock frame does not have much/enough clearance unless you're not to tall.

The front lower A-arms, you may want to add extra support or make them with a truss design, otherwise they bend very easily at the shock mount area, the tops are fine just the lowers have issues. At least mine did.

If you didn't plan on it try and add front brakes, the plans don't have any, but believe me it is well worth the effort when you need to stop in a hurry.

Good luck,
They are fun to drive

I'm planning on adding front brakes and am making a few changes as I go along there is a support in the plans on the front wishbone but it looks rough so I will do better
I'm getting rid of the single pin keeping ghe wishbones on front and rear and doubling up on the brackets and bushing s using bolts instead
More pics will follow soon

Hey!

Nice to see another ST2 build!
I have front disk brakes also, I just used the front stub axles, wheel hubs, calipers and disc brake plates from The Edge.. and build it into the ST2 LT design.

Keep us updated!
Erwin

Looks sweet dude[smilie=ecstatic.gi:! I'm just wondering, What center housing unit is that? Or did you make it your self, if so what did it cost to build? What size/kind of tubing are you using?

Good clean look to it:)

It's badlands plates with impreza diff and shafts hubs inboard brakes mounted on collars I added to the inner cv joints
Diff is sealed up with a cap and will be using grease instead of oil
Sprocket adapter made to suit crownwheel bolts and sprocket
Most expensive thing in it so far was two bearings at 40 euro I had the diff in a swap with a mate for other stuff and the adapters I made at work before I got my own lathe
If ya bought everything probaly 300 would cover all

Sorry about that Nivek - it would appear that I managed to give you the boot. You're back up and running now.

Thanks to Duane for pointing out the error of my ways. :)

Hey! Thanks for your compliment.. good to know that my video's have any purpose :p

Mine isn't running yet.. but I don't have the time to work at my buggy the last couple of months.. it's horrible! That's also the reason why I don't spend many time on MBN... A thing that I love to do.

You can find my building thread link in my post signature ;) The word 'building' is linked!

I really like your work! The differential is very neath! Wish I did it like that..
