Just got my plans staring my build and have a question has anyone cut the plates out by hand with a plasma cutter as opposed to having them lases cut and with what results trying to save some $ everywhere I have called here in northern ca wants a fortune

For what you save in cost will not be close to the amount of time to not just cut but then clean those cut parts with a grinder. And that's measured in hours. Doing it by hand works but finishing the parts is doing it the "hard way"

Of coarse this is my opinion (results may vary)

I am in the same boat but there is a guy on here, his name is Y.O.R thats from my area and i am just waiting for him to come on. He posted awhile ago that he'd cut the parts for an st4 for 250 plus materials.

Shop around, I can get it done cheaper in AU than that, which is surprising as inflation is threw the roof from mining,

TONYCYB,
I am building the ST4 also and I am cutting my plates by hand. I will say that it is alot harder than I thought it would and I have more time than I have money.[smilie=ecstatic.gi:
