What motor is it, 800, 1100, 1600?

Or a 250...... a friend and I just finished swaping in a Honda civic engine into a 250 sand viper. we used a VW transaxle and mounted it mid engine., used a cable shifter, we had to lengthen the wheelbase a couple inches and the back half of the cage but it worked out good. he doesn't plan to run it real hard (not jumping it) He just wants to make it up the big tall dunes. reliability is a priority too.

Seems to me that you would have to stretch the wheelbase more than just a few inches to get that engine/tranny into a 250 frame.

We moved the trailing arms back about 2 1/2 " The top of the frame we lengthened 10", So yeah the buggy is overall lengthened more than a couple inches but the wheel bases is only a couple inches longer.

Bubba we got 3 joyner 250's in Ky with polaris 400 in them. One more on the way. One polaris 500 in one in Tn and 2 more on the way and my 400 in Fl and one in Ok. Very easy swap's. Cut down he quad cradle and line up the sprokets. 35hp stock, 55-70hp on a trail engine and 80-125hp on a race engine

well here is a update on the joyner, i am gonna sell the turbo set-up, and i am n the middle of putting in a 2004 gsxr 750 in it, i just think it will work better, really hate to loose reverse but the forward fun ought to b a blast, i am building the rear drive sprocket and axle assembly and i will add pics later.

dermik,
if you come up with or know of a good option for reverse let me know. i have a drakart tornado frame i'm building and seriously considering a 2005 GSXR600 for it but like you said, i hate to give up reverse. i'm in the northeast and run trails not sand so reverse is a big deal.

let me know, thanks.
