I was thinking the same thing. I never added it up but there are some prety big prices there and several of them. Mybe you should get another quote from a different laser cutter!

Your prices are high
Nobody uses 5000 series AL for buggies
Your turn around time is too long
And... You're not allowed to just advertise like this.

This seems legit to me, or if not is a very odd way of advertising...

It would have been easier to just list the total cost than the cost of each part. But yes I think those prices are too high and turnaround time too long even without knowing what the parts look like.

5000 series Al is ok depending on application; it welds nicely, and could be used for fuel tanks or shrouds or something. I wouldn't use it for structural parts though.

That's good analysis LilChubby. We are in attack the effing SPAM mode and appreciate moderation.

The prices do seem high. As always I suggest GK Machine for good prices and great service.

For whatever reason this guy priced them individualy which I thought was nice, but being each part was so high I didnt bother adding it up. Talked to bruce from bad land and a few others, and everyone agreed this was way high. I don't have anybody else here local that does laser cutting so I'm going to have to get something cut and shipped. I appreciate those who helped.

We've always used Siemens Laserworks in Edmonton, Canada. We've purchased the ST4 laser cutting before & it costs around $450 Canadian dollars using grade 44W mild steel plate (which is the average mild steel). Laser cutting shops will typically give you a break on pricing when you supply them with the DXF files because then they don't have to pay the labour in-house to redraw the parts from a measured drawing. That's why we supply DXF files with many of our buggy plans.

I would certainly check around for better pricing. That's very high.

FYI, once we get the new shop up & running, we'll be offering laser cut plate kits again. However, it's still cheaper for guys in the USA to have laser cutting done locally due to shipping costs & brokerage fees. I would expect to pay around $350-$400 for everything for ST4 in the USA.
