I'm going to relocate the radiator on my Ody this fall. This motor is a JD 440 and it appears the stock JD mounts with rubber bushings were reused. They are badly deteriorated. Do I need to use a rubber mounting or do you think I could get away with a simple metal tab?

You have to use a rubber mount.... If any thing go to a local auto parts store and ask the counter sales man for radiator mounts.... they have lots of them and well look at all of them and modify one to fit your buggy..... If not...(If you dont use them) be prepared to take radiator to be repaired... not cheap. Repairs can be 25.00 to 100.00$ once it leaks at a radiator repair shop(Most shops that repair them have a minimum charge like 50.00$.... I used to work at one, that's how I know that)

Buy the rubber insulator with a bolt on either end. McMaster Carr and similar have them on line.
