OK, Maybe one of you guys can shed some light on this for me.
Last night I got to the stage where I could try my first engine start up.
I made my final connection and.......Nothing? I am running the OEM key and when I turn it on I get no dash lights or fuel pump. nothing.

I checked the Battery with a OEM meter and it has plenty of power. I even hooked up a battery charger and still nothing. I checked the big red 50AMP fuse -good, I checked the small 15 AMP blade fuse-good.

I also pulled apart the plug right before the key and put my OEM meter on it and it read I have power.
I have 2 plugs that aren't connected to anything. They are ran real long. I think they are for the brake and turn lights in the back.

I sent this wiring harness out to a shop to have all the mods fixed for a car so I know it;s not the tip over sensor.
Maybe they didn't connect something right or maybe I'm just missing something.
Tomorrow I'll have a buddy come over and help me check everything with the OEM meter. I just thought it couldn't hurt to see what you guys think.
Thanks!
here's some pics

Are you getting power to the key?

That's the first place I'd start. If there's nothing going there, then it's not going to do squat.

I wish I could find my wire diagram for the R1... [smilie=gun_chair.g:

I would say check your grounds going to the cpu. Then verify power is getting to the cpu from the ignition switch. Also check to make sure the tip over switch and kick stand switch are disconnected properly. And double check to see what resistor the used to bypass the tip over sensor. Busa is 62k ohms not sure about yours thou.

good luck.......:D

Also in picture two I see two ring terminals unlanded. Check to see if they are grounds for something.

Gonna work on it tomorrow. thanks guys for the heads up on where to start. I also think it might be a ground somewhere.
The 2 eye hole terminals you see in that second pic is actually just one mounting strap that loops around the wiring harness and clamps together and the to frame or motor.

The key is getting power.

I had a similar issue with my R1 and it was a light blue wire that runs from the bottom rear of the motor up and around to the top that I'll call a neutral safety switch. I pinched the wire, but it really wasn't obvious. I had the same problem that you describe. Could be a switch that only allows starting when the clutch lever is pulled?

Thank you, I'll look for that wire too later today.
