Well, I have been thinking of another build. I have pondered a couple different single seater cars. But for me the best part of having one of these cars is building it yourself. I was just at Rick's place tonight, and picked up the plans for an AR-51! I prolly wont post much progress until this winter, but this summer, I will be collecting steel, parts, all the stuff to get a roller. Once I sell the Shotgun, I will start looking for the pricy stuff..motor..(busa, Gsxr 1000, RC-51), wheels, tires, shocks, and things like that. The wife says something has to go before I start spending more on "big boy toys" I will make a seperate post to sell that. I am pretty stoked to get going on another build.
Mainly the reason for going with a single seater is lighter, and more nimble. The Rorty car is a monster in the tighter trails in Michigan, but isn't too bad, just want a single seater.

Sounds like all three of us are in the same boat. I have a pile of parts at my place, but I don't wan't to start until I have pretty much everything I need.

I'm interested in seeing what you guys come up with. I've stuck to the plans exactly other than a few aesthetic items. Having all the parts together helps with the work too. Best of luck with your build, Justin.

Same here, I have pretty much every thing here. Need to order the tires and wheels, a seat and waiting for Rick to tell me the front hubs are ready. Besides back ordered axles and engine I have it all.

I think the AR51 will more fun than the Shotgun, especially on Michigan trails. Take the Shotgun to the sand and hang a sign on it.

Welp, things are under way! It has been crazy busy at work the past couple months...BUT. I have spent a couple extra hours at work this week programming all the flat plate work for the front end. I will start programming the rear parts this week. The wife doesn't want me to sell the Shotgun, so I made her a deal...I will sell the shotgun, and buy her a four wheeler, and I can finish the build! Not to bad of a deal?! I think I could ask $15,00 for the shotty... What do ya think? Like I said, this is gonna be a slow one

All right. I rounded up some tube, and 1/4" plate to make another table. When I built the shotgun, I told myself I would never use wood for a lay out table. So I built a 60"x24" table, with a 1/4" plate top. It has a wooden shelf near the bottom for storage.
As for the build, I got the 1 1/2 tube cut, and layed out for holes and mitres. I will place my steel order for the rest of the chassis and suspension bits. My plan is to cut and notch everything, and go to town.. More news tomorrow...
And pictures.

Oh yeah. Lots of interest in the shotgun too. A couple test rides, and some people calling more than once.Nowhere near the desert.
