I do have some plans, but I'm just using them as a general guide. The final product isn't going to look anything like the original plans. If you're going to make it yourself, you might as well put yourself into it.
It won't be busa powered...I found a 600cc ninja engine for $200, so I couldn't pass it up. I'll keep my options open for a busa in the future though.
Malmstrom is all right...summers are short. No dunes nearby. St. Anthony's in Idaho is the closest I know of, and it's quite a drive. The winters here definitely open up my options for a snow-rail. I'd love to go back down south near glamis, but the last of the missiles are all up in the north.

That sounds cool. So I am assuming you have some welding experience and tube bender / notchers and all that good stuff. I do know one thing about this sight that is bad. It is really not helping me get much work done during the day. I tend to keep this site open on one screen and try to work on the other.

Yeah, I do have a good amount of experience welding and whatnot. My shop is kind of on hiatus right now because QA is trampling through. So there's really not much to do in the meantime, aside from occasional dispatches. So this site is open on my computer quite often too, lol.

I assume you've heard... At least this base isn't the one on the news every 2 weeks. That's not to say people don't make mistakes, though. We're just forunate enough that it doesn't hit CNN. There's rumors of three generals on base today for a commander's call...we'll see.
But that's boring news! Let's talk about buggys.

I here ya. I am actually looking about by a small welding set up in the next couple of weeks. Either lincoln or miller. Just probably 175 mig. Hopefully that would suit my needs as i get into this. I have been looking at buying a welded up frame and going from there. That is probably the most important part of keeping me alive. I wish that team-moto.com had a better rep as there prices are right. But i cant find any first hand reviews on there stuff. Just claims and speculations. heard anything?

welcome to this site. this place is cool. welcome also neighbor native Las Vegas desert rat here. I dont have a buggy yet. my fam always had some kind of dune buggy or baja bug. I just picked up a small frame from a yard sale. It was a ridged frame. I cut off all that stuff and I will make it an A frame front and rear suspension. this will be for my son. I work for H&E Equipment as a field crane mechanic.
