Default Noob from W. MI

Hello all, my name's John. I'm a little South West of Grand Rapids Michigan and new to the whole buggy thing. I have very little experience with anything to do with these buggies, I rebuilt a pickup with the assistance of my brother some of his friends and my father and gained some good knowledge there but nothing that seemed to help when reading these buggy plans. I mostly play around at silver lake or around my brothers farm; in the winter its snowmobiling in the UP. I started looking into a mini buggy and reading this forum last fall because It is very difficult to hang with my brother and his friends on 4 wheelers through the dunes in a pickup truck (without braking things at least). I picked up a couple plans, the badlands Lt, and the Edge Barracuda plans. Decided to do the cuda but got sidetracked with a different project. I ended up seeing Rico's Barracuda go up and picked it up and brought it home the begining of the week. I hope to eventually build one of my own but it'll have to wait till I can do it right.

Welcome to the site SB.

Yea, trying to keep up w/quads in any truck short of a Trophy Truck's not going to work.

Get some seat time in the Cuda and then make the next step, if you want, by starting your own build.

There's lots of info here on the site and more than a few willing to help you out along the way. All you have to do is ask.

And, just because I've been on a roll, tormenting everyone this past week, it's a lot, not alot, not allot.

Not that you were going to spell it wrong, but I have a reputation to keep up and there's a large black squirrel that's tracking my every move at the moment.

Once again, welcome to the site and the madness!

The cuda has a GSXR 750 engine and I'm keeping it at my brothers farm in Dorr since he has more room than I do in Hudsonville.
I think there is a thread on this forum of it being built, I was told that it was built by Doug Heim.

Dorr also,,,,,small world. Next time you are in Dorr, feel free to look me up.

I would like to check out your buggy too. From what I have seen online here, Doug Heim builds some really nice stuff, and I am sure you bought a quality machine.
If interested, we are always looking for more buggies to join us at the tracks to have some fun. Races are every couple of weeks at one of the tracks.
As Bug mentioned, there are doing alot of driving out at I96 raceway too.
We plan to get out there some more too.
Here are some pics & videos of some of the racing & fun,,,,,,,
