Hey guys just stoping in to say hey and can't wait to start my build and from reading other posts there seems to be a lot of knowledge here a hope to gain some myself. I'm still in the choosing a design stage right now and it's between the barracuda and buggy innovations I want something small but still has the characteristics of a larger buggy. Any suggestions will be appreciated on which one to go with I'm new to this type of build but have a pretty good idea on how to fabricate things and on machanical know how. If anyone had some plans on either one of these buggys could give me some insight on how hard it may be and the tricks they have done to make things easier that would be great

Welcome Geaux-rilla, its a lot of work building these things. which makes it that much more satisfying when finished. Don`t have experience with the buggy`s you mentioned, I`m sure alot guys here do. I built mine custom from parts of a Polaris outlaw 500.

well I can tell you I can't wait to start building and I know I will get in over my head and have to take a step back and regather my thoughts to get back on track
Thanks Crazy and thats a good idea to use 4 wheeler parts to build your buggy I will keep that in mind Last edited by Geaux-rilla; 01-12-2012 at 12:51 AM. |

Welcome to MBN!
Some of us tool up for the project and build only one car. In that case it might be best to buy a completed frame from someone like Tut, Protodie or others. Others end up building more than one because building turns out to be fun. One tip I have about building is don't make it so complicated that you have to tear the car apart for hours to fix something minor. Put all your maintenance stuff in mind and make it accessible. Every nut and bolt should be reachable with tools. Components should come in and out without having to disassemble too much of the car. |

thanks for the advice guys its much needed as far as buying a built frame I'm thinking the frame build is what I'm looking forward to the most... I've made my mind up and I'm going to build one of Ricks ar 51s I like the look and the stance of it and after talking with him and his quick responses to my questions it assures me I will have no problems getting help when needed

So I figured out which buggy I'm going to go with and its neither of the two previously mentioned Rick responded almost immediately after my first post and I have been talking with him about his AR51 and I'm going with it I bought my first couple pieces of tube today and cannot wait to get it going Couple of newbie questions
1. what would be some of the things I should be paying the most attention to when building this buggy? 2. Does anyone swap out junk yard parts to save some money and what parts should I keep my eye out for |
