Just discovered the site. New to computers also, but not new to mini's. Been into sand since early 80's. Now have a single seat 600cbr and a 2 seat 1000cbr. Both are sprocket drives and will be looking to upgrade to a geardrive system and possible conversion to mid travel suspension. I'm hoping I stumbled into the right site. Most of my sand is in Silverlake,MI. ,I made a trip to Glamis in 02, but my favorite spot is Waynoka,Ok. I liked Glamis but it's a very long trip. I built the 2 seater from scratch, its not perfect but thru the trial and error process we have come along way. Be talkin to youall. Doc

Yes Welcome. I am a Silver Laker myself "for now" but look to be moving west and am looking for work near LS in Oklahoma and even harder near Salt Lake City, Utah as there is MANY sand dune areas around there (LS there. Coral pink, St Anthonies and more) and the drive to Dumont and even Glamis from Salt Lake is not to bad!
Just an old fart from Florence Oregon Here is a thread you might enjoy. A few others are using car trannies like this and liking them. Lotsa ways to incorporate it without hacking the bellhousing off. I have one here I plan to bolt a plate right to the bellhousing to hold me bearing supports.
