Default Hi! All! New Guy from North...

Hi!My Name is P-Y And I'm from Jonquiere ,Qc, Canada,

I'm 21 and now building karts and buggies since the age of 15 with my brother. We make pretty much everything by ourselves, we have a lathe, milling machine,MIG welder, arc welder but no garage.

The Buggy or Kart (Still don't know where is the point we start to call it a buggy) we currently run is :

250cc quad bike engine
roughly 50" wide x 100" long
Rear Swing arm, 11" of travel
Front A-arms, 6" of travel (currently being redesigned for 13")

Here's a video of it running during it's first test run:

N.B We got rid of the swingy rear end and skipping chain since!!

Thanks

P-Y

yes welcome to MBN and nice buggy, so ya I think that qualifies as a buggy cause it ain't a little kidy kart. But the engine did seam a bit high in the vid, maybe try and lowed it if possible. It also seams to be a little narrow, at least to me, maybe widen it a bit? either way good job with it, and looks like a lot of fun

Thanks Bugbite! I Know the engine is too high( I flipped it twice...) but on the other side it have pretty decent rear travel for it's size. I've made 2.5" aluminium spacer for the rear wheels since, they help but we must still be careful when taking sharp turns.

The engine is from a suzuki quadrunner LT250ef 1985.single cylinder,Works great not the fastest engine ever made but it sure have some torque!(and it have 4 valves!)

I'm currently rebuilding the front suspension in order to gain some travel and whidth. and it'll have some super low budget air shocks...we'll see if they works!

This forum should be very useful!

Thanks for the welcome!
