Default CV degrees of operation

When a CV has 25° as it's operating range, does that mean total deviation from 0°, or is it ±25° from 0°, totaling 50° of deviation?

All right, good. CVs are far more capable than I thought they were.

If your carrier is forward or back from the axle centerline it will add degrees. Also it is probably a bad idea to go beyond 23 to enhance reliability.

I have always been told that you loose angle as you move your hub or trans off center cause you now have to take the offset of the cvs into account also. The advantage is that you can run sometimes longer axles allowing more wheel travel per degree of angle.
