On a sand car with little or no front brakes, it will not make much of a difference. On something heavy with good brakes, it will make a huge difference. It will be most noticeable in the like of the hiems. And yes, I have seen them fail, even on big name race trucks (Pfluegers, Jesse Jones's original TT)

As for it being OK, I would try to do everything to get around it. But like everything its a balancing act, trading a little weight/strength for better geometry is sometimes worth it. When your building a buggy from scratch without space restrictions, its not worth it.

I asked him if the company was under new ownership and he said no, he has always owned the company but he is down sizing.......

Update. The partners split. The builder is keeping the business. It's just him and 2 part timers now that come in if needed. I have heard he will take an order for a car though. I wish him well.

Well to keep the WB I want and to have the option for fitting a bypass in there this arm fits the bill. Everything on this car I am working on is a excercise in stuffing everything into the smallest area possible. I suppose I could run a-arm back to the side of the cage but then the travel starts to suffer. Eh it's all a compromise.
