Been looking around for some nice looking alum 15x7 Bead lock rims with the 5/205 bolt pattern. Looks like most of them are around $219-300 each. Anybody found some screaming deals on these rims? Anyone a distributor for the BTR beadlock rims? I need 4 of them. Best price I have seen is $219.

bdkw1,
who do you think has the best beadlock wheel for this application? I wont be doing much sand running so I will be bashing into all kinds of hard stuff and I want the rims too last. |

Your probably asking the wrong guy, I hate beadlocks
![]() But seriously, Another one of the reasons I went with the 5X5.5 lug pattern was cheap rims. I've been know to kill a few..... In a weekend. The BTR's are about the strongest rims out there, just heavy. CMS and Douglas wheels are much lighter, will not take the beatings and cost about the same. |

In sand with paddles they are . Everywhere else, you should have enough pressure to hold the bead on. A rim with a properly designed bead will work almost as good as a bead lock. In the 3 years that we race TT, we never had a bead some lose on the APP's. We had a couple of tires that the tread was completely gone and the 2 sidewalls were still on the rim. Also, they let the tire rotate under hard hits saving the ring gear.
The bead locks I have had have always leaked, some more than others. The bolts get fatigued after a while and start to break. For a race truck, you change the bolts every time you change a tire and silicone the beads. PITA. |

In sand you are almost guaranteed to have a problem if the tires are below 10psi. I spun my tire then rolled it off the bead on my fourwheeler last year on the beach. I kept them around 4psi. If you spin them too much it eats the bead too, then they really want to come off.
