Default Revolution Racing Shocks - New bypass shocks

This is from a phone conversation that I had with Neil of ATV Racing last Friday afternoon, and then some follow up this afternoon:

There is [url=http://www.rrshocks.com/:3s7gmz7l]a new shock on the market[/url:3s7gmz7l] that doesn't use a shim stack on the piston. It's a coil-over bypass shock that's fully adjustable from the outside - three or four compression zones and rebound's fully adjustable also. It's supposed to take about as long to adjust all the shock action as it takes to turn a few screws on the outside of the shock. Think motocross rear shock or forks - turn a screw, instant adjustment. They have been designed by a guy that used to be R&D for Fox and King.

Neil's in the process of contacting some of the customers (he said that he was looking specifically for racers) that have these shocks to get some less biased or unbiased opinions on them (as opposed to the company owner's opinion). He's considering them for the new four seat, V8 powered car that ATV Racing is making and he wants to throw a set on my new desert car. Something about me being a test bunny again....

According to Neil, the owner of the place has supposedly been very straight forward about the shocks design, ease of use, limits and abilities that they have, but so far he's been pretty quiet about the inner workings other than saying (and I think Neil said showing) that the piston has no shim stacks. There are patents pending, so he's being quiet for the time being. Can't blame the guy...

The downside right off the bat is that they are pricey... Neil told me that the difference between a Fox internal bypass and one of these in the same size is about 500 bucks.

SOS, different manf.

Kuster/ early Swayaway had these about 10 yr's ago. The only problem with them is that they are not speed sensative at all. Normally when you run a dual shock set-up you can take care of the speed sensative part with the C/O. At least on the Fox unit you still have SS valving.

Just passing on info that I have been told about.

I have been to Glamisdunes once, maybe twice - both times via links from here. - It's not a source I use, or site that I go to.

I appreciate the info!!!

I didn't think you visit there often, which is why I posted the links.

Not much minibuggy stuff going on there--except for Yoshi.

Bdkw1,

Read through the threads from Glamis Dunes. It has been clearly proven these shocks are nothing like the POS Sway-A-Ways.

If I were into racing, I would certainly try them.

Actually, those were some of the good shocks as the were still a Kuster design. Leakaways didn't go down hill till they started trying to mass produce them. The only problems with them then were the seal packs and plating on some cans. Seals, easy fix. Cans........

I have looked over these shocks first hand and talked to the guys making them. They are very very similar.

Andrew Buck has them too, He just never made more. Serious seal problems on his to when put to the race test. It's easy to make something look good in Glamis, A little harder after pounding through 50 miles of whoops at parker......

Only "Retail price $1495 each" for that much I would expect them to be remotely controlled from the drivers seat, no doubt they will sell maybe I should finish my remote controlled FOX air adjusters...

Yeah, I asked them about that, there reasoning was that it replaces a C/O and a Bypass so it's actually cheaper. Unfortunantly it will fade much sooner than a dual shock set-up. To get the same performance of 2-2.5's you would need a 3" or 4" single. The price on the coils would blow the single shock price savings right out the window.

I am planning on putting a set of these on a Tom Pro car; anyone foresee any problems with that?
