Default Simple hub question

Are hubs made to fit a specific axle, or will pretty much any hub fit any axle?

Thanks

From what I've seen, there are different spline counts and keyways. I have also seen tapered and keyed axles. Hope that's kinda what your asking.

Yah the hub needs to match the axle. There are very few that cross over to match others with no mods.

Hubs to fit those... Nope no clue....

Unless they are like these?

These are the VW four bolt pattern. Any good VW shop will have them. Between 35 and 65 bucks depending on the shops markup and how pretty they are.

I think they are off the older Porsche or maybe the Ghias but do not quote me on that.

If thats what you seek print the pic out and take it to a VW shop.

IF you have access to a lathe or know someone who does who owes you a favor you can also take any VW splined brake drum and machine the brake drum part off.

After market companies make all sorts of hubs for them too (some with some light weight killer brake systems) but they aint cheap.

I used turned down drums as hubs, and then non-vented rotors from a type 3 (I think) with calipers from the same. The brackets were home built, but I've seen someone sells them now. I really wanted disc brakes, and the kits were more than I had into my whole rail.
