What should the front track width to rear track width ratio be in order to have a good turning radius?
I have been told that having a slighlty narrower rear track will help your turning radius, but how much shorter should I go. . .my last buggy was 62.5" wide front and rear with a 76" wheelbase. . .with the new buggy I'm shooting for a 62.5" front track width and 65" wheelbase. . .how much narrower should my rear track be? Thanks! |

Suggestions:
Look at the typical ratio for any mass manufactured car. Look at various dual purpose cars from remaining builders like Tatum, etc. Look at Rorty cars since they are designed for dirt. Design th ecar with Ackerman. Lastly, design the rear so the suspension travel is equal to the front when you set width. (nothing to do with the question, it's about balance and ride IMO) |

Working on the ackerman now. . .that was another problem I think that our ackerman was off before. . .I'll have to double check it tomorrow, but I'm betting that we inadvertently ended up with reverse ackerman which would be another reason why the front would push/slide in sharper turns.
