Good luck with your next build! I look forward to seeing another build thread I started on a second buggy for my wife. Just a small one, but it sure is fun to be building again.

The older I get the more I relise that the build is more than half the fun. With all the crap that life has handed me it fells good to be inspired to build.

I feel the same way! When I reinvented my first car my thoughts were that I would never fo it again. Wrong!

There is grat pleasure in building. Don't get me wrong - driveing is better! Building is really satisfying.

So I say build again!

Well for me I think the building is more satisfying, because when you are out on the trail and you do something that everyone agrees is totally awesome. You can think too yourself that I done the mental engineering that made it work. I don't mean to sound full of myself, but there have been times out on the trails where I have impressed myself with what this machine actually can do. When you get back to the pits you and everyone else knows that this day you have proved you are "king of F''' Mountain" and that all I have to say about that!

Hey pvanheck
I'll second that nothing wrong with getting a big head it takes alot of time and effort to put one of these things together. I know I'm impressed with my buggy every time I take it out and it makes it back to the shop no better feelling that I can think of Except for the time I blew a rear tire and had to limp it back and load it on my trailer Wasn't my fault IT"S the Tire company "Ya thats It tires fault" Great luck on your second build post up some pics

Hey thanks for the info on the subi gearing but it dosn't rearly matter, I am using a chain drive from the engine to the rearend and I have a 20% reduction in it now so if you figure first gear in the trans, the chain reduction and the 4:11 rearend gear I have a 13.61:1 first gear. It works great as a granny gear in mud and rock climbing.

hey pvanheck, with regards to the camera Q any good helmet cam should do the trick, small durable and relatively cheep, should be able to pick up a good one for $100 or so, and another $20 for a memory card and you should be set for a couple hours of shooting, bugbite

Thanks Bugbite it funny you should post about that subject, my Son and I where talking about that and he was getting on me about trail riding and not wearing a helmet. The last time we went riding I kinda rolled it backwards down a montain path without a helmet and he and his wife where kind of highly concerned, I tried to tell them you can't hurt a block of wood with a couple rocks but they didn't see it that way. Therefore a helmet cam will probably be in the works.
