Default Long time since I was here!

Thought I'd check in and see what was going on-I wasn't even sure I came to the right website! ha ha {HAVEN'T BEEN ON FOR A LONG TIME}

I almost have my fzr1 all done, I have test drove it and everything seems good except for my mini spool axle broke (back to the mill with bigger and better metal!)

Welcome back! How long did the spool last? Nobody here ever breaks anything...until it's driven!

About the first four hard turns! I actually cheated and tried my luck with shortenting a VW bug axle in the middle to hold the type II trans flnages. I knew better with a little spool and the amount of twisting going on in there!

BTW the gearing is a little too high as well.
51 teeth on the rear 15 up front.

I am interested in what you did that broke? You shortened an axle? What did you do and how did it fail? I ask as I have some axles made by Gear one that are just as wide as a VW diff (tiny wider actually) and wondered if the actual axle failed or a weld of the two parts or? How wide IS the center part spool of yours? Nice buggy too!

Nice lookin' ride. I especially like the 2-tone paint. Is that Barney the dinosaur purple with seafoam green? Way to be original! Good luck getting it back up and running.

Welcome back!
Have any more pics of you driving it or it outside.
Love to see it in daylight with that paint.

Well to bad about it braking but better now in the first 5 minutes then it lasting just long
enough for you to go on a vacation and have it give out then. Right?
