why would i have bumpsteer? my pivot point on my rack is right even with the pivot of my a-arms. and it sits high enough up so that it wont interfere with anything.. from reading threads about bumpsteer, thats what i got out of it that i was supposed to do?

you may have to move it around a little, you have to account for the control arm locations etc as well...Looking good BTW...

Buick,Prizm, same rack, I got 3 of them laying in the pile behind the shop
Have you ever taken the rubber boots off that rack?
Pull the boots and you'll see whats wrong, The tie strap on the boots appear to be (in the pix) inline with the control arm mounts...unless you have about 2" of travel the rack will bind...As far as the steering goes either think backwards when driving or move the rack back , change your spindles to rear steer. Rear steer in not as evil as most make it out to be... just more likely to bend a tie rod with a front tire impact...shit the car that rack came out of was a rear steer

( i meant, miss understood what i was reading, sorry.) i guess i still dont see why it binds? the pivot off the tie rod on the rack is inline with the control arm pivot, isnt that what i want? or what? i dont have room to mount it in the rear. so i was either gonna flip it and run a few joints. or just go try to find another one. are all cars rear steer?

I don't know how else to explain it ...If you pull the boots you will see that the rack doesn't pivot where you think it does...It doesn't pivot in the green circles...If it pivoted there, when you turned to the left the right pivot point would be inside the tube...and vice versa when you turn right...Look dude I'm not pickin on ya...well maybe just ALOT... but nobody else here seems to care about helping people to not make unecessary mistakes anymore...Just saying "good job...nice build" when your having problems with bad part misfits, It's not just you... there are some others that are gonna have trouble with their builds when they get closer to completion...

Ya most cars are rear steer...but most of the older trucks and 4x4 trucks are front steer

ok now i see what your saying.. i decided to not try to make that rack work anyways, even though theres probably no way to use it. lol. i was thinking the pivot points were where the green circles are. so what would be a good rack to use? preferably something from an auto, so i can find one at the salvage yard. and preferably front steer? thanks

No problem...I know that new racks arent cheap bu I would suggest a rack like this one...I have an extra...I have them in Barb's and my 750 they are not the tightest or the very best in the world but do work...Pluss my machinest makes the off-set spacers to SPEC's for next to nothing
You can order one for around ahundred bux
