heres what i got done today. i made the front hoop, put in the roof pieces, and took my wheels to the machine shop to get them drilled for the s-10 hubs. i only have 5 feet of tube left. thats enough to make my dash bar. also i found a power rack and pinion on the torched off front end of some buick that was up in one of the sheds. i just plugged the lines and power washed it.. looks good. i noticed that my s-10 hubs fit the splines of the buick cv's. would have been nice to know before i spent all the time making hub brackets. i could have just used those spindles and hubs.. and my s-10 cv's.
![]() ![]() ![]() i still need to weld in my brace for this piece. what i did for those two tubes with the red, i flattened the ends in the press and drilled holes in each end. that way i can bolt them to my frame for some added support and looks, amnd also remove them for engine removal. ![]() again, sorry for the crappy quality pictures. im in the process of trying to find a good camera to get nice photos. well i got the r&p mounted. i just trimmed the rods, still need to weld and sleeve them to my tie rods. as mentioned before it was a power rack, but it turns very easily, im really not familiar with r&p's so hopefully there aren't gonna be any problems.

im so tired of hitting snags. i guess when i put my rack on and tacked the mounts for it, having the u-joint come out right where my steering shaft needed to be was too good to be true. some how, even while turning the joint, i didnt notice the wheels were going oposite from the way i was turning. there are two ways around this. flip it over so the ujoint comes out on the passenger side, run a couple more u-joints with shafts over to the drivers side and to the steering wheel. or i could change it to rear steer which would require me to hack up my front end to make room. neither one i want to do.. so is there any suggestions? are all racks like this?

I guess you got a rear steer rack and mounted it in the front steer position huh
![]() You might wanna check your bumpsteer as well...unless that rack floats...your gonna have a teensie weensie bit of binding in the front suspension
