I never ever once raced on the street.........Watched a bunch of it though! Ring seal? Less than 4% leakdown after a complete season. The best thing I ever did was to spend the big bucks on the very best components.Maintenance dropped to nearly zero. I only destroyed 1 engine in over 30 years. Had a few valve springs break and cause minor problems like dropped valves early on but after going to Ti valves and dropping spring pressures approx 40% that was the end of any failures of any kind. Kind of ironic but as my engines performance increased durability increased also.

I was thinking the only thing you could use it for since you did not hook them u is maybe for the data logging to gather EGT or AFR readings? I don't get it?

Ok you made your guess. It's pretty simple really. Once upon a time I burned a piston and pressurized the sealed engine.Blew out the valve cover gaskets, covered the headers in oil and quite a fireball came about. They're there just as a pressure relief valve. They hold vacumn but not pressure in the crankcase.

Is it there to guarantee you never get any crankcase pressure at low rpm?

I finally got on a site and checked out the Mosebuillt two seat cars...... SWEET. I just pity you when you have to buy the transaxle that will hold up behind your 428" SBC>

I hope you don't get banned..... This site would have no spice without the Master and his $.02.
That is true also.

Yeah you can buy a decent house around here for what an albins costs!

A little birdie let me know last night it wasn't being considered.WHEW!

After all the bashing I got recently from the squeakies you don't know HOW MUCH I appreciate that .Thank you VERY much.

Sorry, I got in the way.....Lucas oil sponsors 100 yard sand drags for top fuel....NuTz me thinks.........http://www.dragracingonline.com/spec...anddrag-1.html saw it on TV woooeeee!

Some of my SCCA buddies use vac pumps to help ring seal, never tried it but s pose to show up on the dyno. Guess the sump pump would do the same.
