The only trouble I am having with my setup now is I was using a half link that was not an O ring and was suffering from heat exhaustion. The rest of the O ring chain will get warm to the touch thats all but I have so much crap tucked in behind the engine that air flow has to be minimal hence the blower
The chain only gets warm when I run it hard with the V8 boys. I expect to have to maintain the chain but if that's all I have to do. Kool

so you dont think you can pull 480 out of a built busa eh' ? check this out, also bob speced the crank rods and ran low comp. pistons !!! he could boost way higher if he wanted to blow axles and reverse boxes, not to metion chains !!!

Dynos are all different and many many times the builders dyno gets LOTS more HP than others with the same machine. The only way any power numbers can be backed up is to get at least two or preferable three dyno runs at major WELL KNOWN REPUTABLE dyno shops who are not going to gain anything other than thier cost to perform the test. The HP and torque can be bragged about. Don't be to offended by this. Its just the way it is. Bill

I never said it couldn't be done.I said it highly doubtful if you're gonna get 480HP @25#'s boost. Hell I've seen busa dyno sheets from very reputable builders that are over 800HP.So????????? It means nothing to us.Anything over approx 300HP is not something I'd take into the desert or deep into the dunes unless I liked to hike back out. 300 or a little more can be quite reliable though on pump gas with a base spacer. .

What about the WHite car I have seen on here with like 750 to the wheels, He had no issues with his so he said but normally ran around with around 500 on low boost. If you build the engine for it, I don't see any reason it would not be fairly reliable, hell they used to get around 2K HP out of the little 2 litre (approx) F1 engines and run WOT all day! I have seen inside these engines and they are nothing more than a bigger version of the bike style engines, just better stuff with the RIGHT tolerances and fueling.

The guy with the white car - as I remember reading at GD or from speaking with a tuner who knew him . . . assuming it was the same person - said the FNR blew up numerous times.

The white car had the engine removed and replaced when it sold. I think it was too much power for the FNR.

Early 80's F1 BMW 1.5L running a stock iron block. Real #'s are hard to come by since the dyno they had at the time only went to 1200HP, which it would max out. Estimated somewhere in the 1300-1400 range with over 150#'s of boost. What they ran those on does not qualify as gas either. The motors would last about 4 hours, practice and race........ If you were lucky.
