Default Buggy I saw at Silver Lake today. Got a ride too. Sweet!

I saw this buggy in the Silver Lake sand dunes today and decided to talk to the fellow driving it. He had never heard of MBN so I told him about it and hopefulley he will check it out. He even offered to take me for a spin it and I will say that there is no better motivation than that for getting my stuff going like it should already be. The machine is powered by a Honda CBR1000 and he custom built the gearbox (no reverse but they are thinking of adding one (electric starter style) The gearbox contains two shafts and three 50 series chains. Thats all three pulling the load evenly on thier own sprockets from the top shaft to the bottom. He mentioned wheel travel and hopefulley he can correct me if I have mis-remembered but its like 24 front and 18 rear. I will say that when he took me over the whoops at speed it was using most of it and the machine was very nice riding. I could tell how much air he was getting over the hilsl and jumps but the landings were smooth. I told him he should draw up the plans for it and sell them. Enjoy the pics. Bill

Hopefulley. He told me that they live in North western Ohio. His father is quite the machinist and the son follows suit well. They told me they followed no plans but looked at a few pics of some other buggies and went to work making adjustmants as they built it so that the geometry hit thier targets. I could see no bumpsteer and he was kind enough to drive through the whoops hard enough to demonstrate any had there been. Its basically thier design. I would buy plans for these. I liked this machine quite a bit. Bill

Thats not a rag in the oil tank. The unit was running a little hot and was purging a little coolant. The rag was there to help absorb it vs just letting it run out on the ground. They think the radiator cap may have been on its way out or a small leak at its juncture. It was custom and also built into the middle of the wing so it was not able to see exactly where the leaks was coming from. Easy to fix once they got back home was there plan if a new radiator cap was not the answer.

That tank is the radiator overflow tank BTW.

So even if was a leak of oil with a rag its a LOT nicer than some rails I have seen. Bill
