I actually think the short sandcar is one of the best looking mini's out there. I just never liked the lack of a B pillar in the design.......

Altho it looks like he is installing them now, This car looks bitchen.

The thing about any of these cars is that pictures don't do them justice, good or bad. Once close enough to examine a car you can see how it is designed and built.

Suspension geometry, construction and attachment are the first thing to look at IMO. A car that lacks king pin inclination won't steer well. A front spindle not held in double shear at the lower arm is inherintly weaker - maybe ok for light duty sand work but not for big time fun. A-arm bushings without crush sleeves is bad design and easily corrected.

Frames with too little bracing help the car go fast but lack necessary protection for driver and passenger. A lack of gusseting and bracing reduces wieght but creates other problems for cars driven aggressively.

Shock angles and mounting ponts on front suspension like Short and Sick might look good but are not optimized for tuning. Rear travel on one of these cars is IMO false advertising and the CV angles on that rear end run at the edge of service and will click after very few hours.

The list goes on. That's why many of us prefer other designs or build our own or fix th issues listed above.

we just seen this car in action last saturday up at silver again, very nice for home built, but little ruff' round' the edges, i also like the short cars designs, simple, form follows function type, lightweight
