Just curious if you have run that setup yet. I was worried about putting all that load on a locating bar. It seem the bar, unless very heavy wall moly, would bend with all the leverage of the car on it. also can make adjusting the link bars more difficult. I made my link bars turnbuckle style for easy adjustment if needed. With the shock mount on the bar, some dissassembly is required for adjustment. Also the link bars tend to twist a little through the cycle being double heimed, and if the bar rolls to the side too much you could break a shock shaft, tabs, bolts, etc. And if you have not already I would beef up where your upper link mounts to the frame because that will put ALOT of sheer on the bolt holding it on the frame. Just my lame opinion.

a lot - two words! Arrrrgggghhhh!!!

The setup that BDK's running is straight off Trophy Truck rear suspension designs. His will just be a bit smaller

The shock mounts below the line between the two ends of the upper link, therefore there is no twisting motion of the upper link, other than some that the shock will input. It's an extremely strong, very well proven and reliable setup.

What you see in the pick that he posted is a very technical, and unobtainable upper link. There's a lot of secret squirrel stuff going on that he's not showing yet. (yea, right...)

If you go find BDK's build, you'll see some of the laser cut parts that will make up the upper link.

Was not trying to discount the design at all. I am just a dumb garage fabricator. I was just explainig why I mounted my shocks the way I did and why I was afraid of mounting them inboard.

BDK do you have some completed pics. I would like to see them. I am always interested in learning something new.

hes slow, them pics are fairly new...

My car was very similar in relation to how your rear shocks are, they seem to swing more than they absorbed, mine aren't nearly as long, but just straightening them out a few degrees i managed to get a far better ride... What kinda motion ratio do you have there?

Hey now, I'm going as fast as I can afford to. I should have some completed pics in about a week.

The rear 5-link is pretty much a copy of the Briggs cars that K-fab has, just larger and with a by-pass shock added. Actually, the whole car is a larger version of them.....

Alot larger......

Punkur67 If you get a chance to get your hands on a 04-06 engine go for it, this one has more HP but you will have to re-due all your engine mounts . I change from a 2000 to a 2004 and had to cut out the back of the car and start all over on the mounts. The wiring harness is a pain but I got it all down on paper on what you need to do to it. Do you have any overheating problems? I have never been able to get my car to run cool and I have moved the radiator three times and tried all kinds of additives even 40 below that worked in my race car.
