Default A little winter riding...

I took the buggy out this past weekend with about 60 other guys on a well organized run. The run was on rivers and lakes in my area. I was the only buggy. There was 1 Ranger and the rest was snowmobiles and quads. It was a real treat to ride with such a great bunch of guys! I never really got stuck accept for an area where we had to get off the river to work around some huge fallen trees where a bunch of guys just picked up the rear and shifed me around in about a 50' stretch of a tight winding reroute. We had a chainsaw along and it definatly came in handy! There was about a 20 mile stretch where we were riding on the Bay of Green Bay off of lake michigan and there was about 4"-6" of powder that made it a bit tricky. The base sucked on the Bay as the fresh snow was hiding alot of slushy areas and guys were getting thrown off their quads. the Snowmobiles just flew over the $hit but by the time a guy relized he was in the slush it was too late. I always just dropped a gear and floored it. Alot of 4X4 quads wer getting stuck but Im glad to say the rear wheel drive buggy powered through everything...

Some guys were saying that the exhaust on my buggy was rattling the snow off the tree branches when I flew by.

The final stop was at a tavern where there as all the beer and soda you could drink and FOOD EVERYWHERE! We are talking Shimp, Brats, Kraut, Ham, Beef Tips, Potatoes, Taco Salad, Tater Salad, Hot Dogs, Devild Eggs, Beans, Fruits, Veg., Chips, Chips, Chips, Dips, and more Horsedurves (how ever the hell you spell it) than I could possibly ever set eyes on and I didnt even list half of what was all there because I cant even begin to remember. Ill make this a definate yearly attendance. Wish you all were there.

I wish I could get my ST2 out in the snow but everytime I plan on going we get an additionnal 6 inches of snow so it never gets packed enough to ride. either that or its just too cold. We have such a crazy winter here I never saw that much snow in all my life. no one is talkin about global warming here since a few months lol

Well my days off are Tues Wed Thurs and Friday so I wanted to target those days because I don't want to burn any vacation time this year. I have to use it all for my wedding and Honeymoon in November. *If you are showing up Thursday we will have all day then to ride. I don't know where you stay but after they close the park me and the group I go with head to the Brown Bear Bar in Pentwater. Its about the only place that anything is going on around there.
